I'm so happy to have found yoga for myself. it has taken me and my life into a whole new meaning. By practicing everyday, I am
able to maintain health and well being most of the time. I'm not referring to things like a cold or flu health, but more like the mental
health and well being that comes from being more centered, grounded and calm. Everyday I listen to students tell me all that is going
on in their lives and in their families lives. Everyone is so busy and active. There is a yogic saying that says "Brain is calm, body is
active", so I am glad you all enjoy being active and busy! Sometimes it becomes overwhelming in my opinion, to the point that
there never is any down time to stop and be grateful. Many of my students almost sound like hypochondriacs with all the stuff that
keeps continuing to happen to them and their reasons for not getting on the mat! I am extremely compassionate and empathetic to
boo boos and injuries and yet, when it is every week when something is happening to someone (if it were me), I'd be questioning the
why, how come and what can I do to stop this crazy self abuse! Some people chalk it up to life and yet as I was taught in metaphysics,
life is what WE make it. How we think, speak and act. This alignment lesson comes again right from the 8 Limbs of Yoga, the Yamas.
The ethics and morals of living. I'm not talking religion, I'm talking your life, your being, your Self. Everyday on the mat lends to lessons, lessons lend to forward movement in life and that movement directs my life in a positive way to receive the abundant unlimited life that
is equal and available to all beings. This 'action on the mat' leads to a calm mind; one that can rationalize from a centered calm place.
A mind that can resolve, a mind that seeks peace. As I look around me and as events show themselves to me as well, I see our world
has lost its sense of 'mind'. The ability to think rationally and peacefully and to never cause harm to others. the mind has become a
'stage' for drama and then that drama is lived out.

Stay calm, be at peace, meditate. Get still, get quiet and most of all 'get on the mat'. No excuses. Your mental well being depends
on it and remember, you just have to 'sit'. Just observe, stop and breathe. Take time for centering everyday. Your mind requires it.
